On September 25, PhilDev, UNDP Philippines, and the Australian Embassy in the Philippines, through the Innovation for Social Impact Partnership (ISIP) project, officially started the acceleration program for the five selected social enterprises (SEs) who will undergo a year of training and receive tailored mentorship through the Social Impact Accelerator.
The five social enterprises will also have the opportunity to connect and meet with potential investors and funders who can help them grow and scale not only their business, but their impact.
Follow these SEs’ journey towards growing their business and helping more communities.
Filipina Homebased Mons (FHMOMS)
FHMoms is a social enterprise that provides home-based livelihood opportunities for mothers. FHMoms creates programs that provide training to mothers about online opportunities and helps provide opportunities for mothers who lack the means and resources to apply and gain employment online.
HiGi
HiGi Energy is an organization that builds a network of renewable energy providers and bridge them to the consumer market. HIGI aims to solve the environmental problem resulting from the use of traditional energy sources.
Make A Difference Travel (MAD Travel)
MAD Travel is an educational travel platform that inspires communities and guests by making lasting difference through fun, authentic, travel experiences. Their vision is to create inclusive, sustainable, agroforest tourism economies that benefit the people and the planet through storytelling.
Magwayen Organics, Inc.
Magwayen Organics is a local start-up that currently develops MAGWAI Reef-Safe Sunscreen. MAGWAI was launched to raise awareness about how mainstream sunscreens contain chemicals that are toxic to coral reefs, and to help make reef-safe sunscreens accessible to Filipinos.
PeoplePods
PeoplePods is a corporate solution to provide dignified affordable housing for Bottom-of-the-Pyramid (“BOP”) workers. They manage dormitory communities that are safer, cleaner, and have more amenities at a more affordable price.
At the end of their six-month intensive program, SEs will showcase their growth and progress as they pitch to potential funders and investors during their Demo Day.
